Congratulations to our 2019 Scholarship Recipients!
New Hampshire University
Winning this scholarship was such a blessing and a complete surprise. This past summer I have been through a lot with my health, having yet another surgery due to CF. Obtaining my degree through UNH is something to keep me optimistic about the future, and by receiving this scholarship, it will help me continue my education. I want to thank everyone at the Bonnell Foundation Board for this incredible award; I appreciate it more than you know.
University of Utah
I would like to thank everyone on the Bonnell Foundation Board for choosing me to be a recipient for this scholarship. I am beyond excited to have the opportunity to continue to be able to attend school with the support of an amazing Cystic Fibrosis organization. It is because of Foundations like this one that many people living with CF have opportunities to chase their dreams and achieve their goals and have motivation along the way. I am so grateful for this scholarship because it will be able to help me finish my Marketing degree at the University of Utah and go on to be able to do more amazing things.
Carnegie Mellon University
CF is expensive, both emotionally and financially. Having this burden off my back will allow me to focus on my college education rather than worrying as much about how I will be able to afford it. Although having CF is hard, it is comforting to know that there are people who are willing to invest in my future.
I wanted to thank you for providing me with a scholarship. It truly is appreciated. I am attending Bentley University. I am very fortunate and thankful to receive this scholarship because it is one step closer to chasing my dream of graduating from college someday. This scholarship shows that there are many people and foundations that look to help the college process for so many talented individuals within the cystic fibrosis community. It is humbling to be one of the recipients and I would like to assure the Bonnell Foundation that their scholarship will be of great use as I continue with my education at Bentley. Thank you all again!
This scholarship is a huge help to my family in meeting the expenses of my final year at Stetson. Because of my music education and performance degree, I had to take many additional credit hours to finish my requirements for both majors, which meant I ran out of hours on my academic scholarships. In addition, this scholarship means even more to me because it comes from the Bonnell Foundation, a family who knows firsthand what it means to have CF. I appreciate everything you do to help families who are dealing with CF.
I cannot thank the Bonnell Foundation enough for their generosity. This scholarship will help alleviate financial burdens as I pursue my dream of becoming a teacher. With their help, I am able to attend a university that I love and know that I can balance the cost of college and living with CF. I am proud to represent Auburn University amongst a phenomenal selection of scholarship recipients. Again, I thank the Bonnell Foundation for this opportunity and everything they do for the cystic fibrosis community!
I would like to thank the Bonnell Foundation for awarding me this scholarship. It means so much to me that I’m able to attend college in the fall at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. I’m planning to study Biomedical Engineering and look forward to helping others through my career. Living with CF has been very challenging, but I try to maintain a positive attitude and take care of myself by taking all my medications and doing my daily treatments. Being healthy enough to attend college has always been my dream and I very thankful that this scholarship is helping me live that dream.
I am very appreciative of the Bonnell Foundation for recognizing me and for all the work they do in the CF community. I plan to continue studying physics and pursue a career in research. This scholarship will help provide me with the education necessary to follow my interests.
This scholarship has shown me that all of my hard work has paid off and inspires me to continue to not allow Cystic Fibrosis to stop me from living a life I’m proud of. I’m so deeply appreciative to have The Bonnell Foundation support as I pursue my education and dream to become a professional dancer in college, it honestly means the world. I’m overflowing with gratitude by your generosity and I’m inspired more than ever to do my part in changing the world. Thank you so much for this scholarship and for your support as I start this next chapter.
This scholarship will allow me to pursue my higher education with a much lighter financial burden. I am thankful that I have the opportunity to focus on my education with the Bonnell Foundation’s help. Having Cystic Fibrosis isn’t easy, but this scholarship makes it easier to deal with because I know I am educationally capable of being successful. My disease can’t stop me financially or educationally and I refuse to ever let it. Thank you to the Bonnell Foundation for supporting my success!
It is my privilege to be awarded a scholarship from the Bonnell Foundation! Living with Cystic Fibrosis has not been easy, so it is especially rewarding to be honored in such a generous way. This scholarship will alleviate some of the financial burden that goes along with attending college and, thus, allowing me to focus on my academic and health goals. Thank you so very much for this generous investment in me and my future!
Getting this scholarship shows me that people care. It shows me that despite my challenges, there are people out there who care and want to support me in bettering my future. I am so thankful to receive this scholarship from The Bonnell Foundation, and it will benefit my education!
Thank you so much for awarding me a scholarship from The Bonnell Foundation. I am super excited to be attending North Carolina State University in the fall and moving in this weekend. This scholarship means a lot as my parents have not been able to put aside college funds because of years of paying for health insurance and medical bills. This scholarship will certainly help in lessening the burdens I know I will face in paying for college. I plan to use this scholarship to pay for books for my classes and the others supplies I know that I will inevitably need. I’m honored that you have chosen me to receive this amazing gift and am excited to use it to continue my education. Thank you for all that you do for those of us affected by Cystic Fibrosis!
Receiving this scholarship means so much to me because this money can help relieve some of the financial burden that the cost of college puts on my family. From the many medical bills I receive, to college expenses such as textbooks, housing, etc., these next four years will be putting a huge strain on my family financially. Without the help of scholarships like this, college would be even more of a burden for my family. The Bonnell Foundation scholarship money will really help contribute to my education in a big way because it will help to lessen both the financial strain and stress surrounding having to pay for both college and all my medical needs. This scholarship means the world to me because I can now worry less about having to balance both the cost of college and my medical needs, and just focus more on my studies and pursuing my dreams.
I am incredibly grateful to the Bonnell Foundation for selecting me for the Marge Carmona Education Scholarship as I begin my freshman year of college at the University of Northwestern in St. Paul, MN. Taking cystic fibrosis along with me to college will definitely present additional challenges; however, the generosity and support provided to me through this scholarship helps to ease the load that those of us affected by CF shoulder. This gift means peace of mind for me because I won’t have to work as hard to afford my education. It will allow me to work at maintaining my physical and mental health as I work towards my dream of becoming a teacher. I am so honored by the Bonnell Foundation’s investment in ME!
I am extremely humbled to be a chosen as a recipient of this scholarship. I cannot express my gratitude for the opportunity that The Bonnell Foundation is giving me with the help of the Marge Carmona Scholarship. It will be put to great use in furthering my education in the Architecture program at the University of Louisiana. This scholarship will no doubt be great motivation to push me towards my goals. Thank you so much for this opportunity!
I am very appreciative to have received such a generous award from the Bonnell Foundation. What receiving this scholarship means to me is that there are well-meaning people in the world going the extra mile to help people with CF. This further motivates me to succeed in college and go on to succeed in the real world. I strive to one day give back to the CF community because of the way it has helped me throughout my life. Thank you!
As a student pursuing my dreams despite the challenges that Cystic Fibrosis throws at me, being awarded this scholarship means the world to me. As everyone knows, college is expensive (like REALLY expensive) so this extremely generous scholarship will most definitely help lighten the burden. CF is certainly not the easiest thing to live with but the generosity and kindness shown to me by those who support me make life a whole lot sweeter. I feel incredibly blessed and would like to thank the Bonnell Foundation from the bottom of my heart for believing in me and helping give me the opportunity to further my passion for aerospace engineering through my studies.
I am pursuing a career in nursing and this scholarship will go a long way in helping me achieve my goal. I was inspired to become a nurse because of the dedication of my amazing CF Team at The Children’s National Health System located in Washington DC. They have had a very positive influence on my life and I hope by becoming a nurse that I can be a positive influence on someone else’s life. I know this award is available to me because a brave CF warrior, Marge Carmona lost her battle with Cystic Fibrosis. Loving memories of Marge will always be alive in the hearts of those who loved her. I am very grateful, appreciative and proud to receive this award and I assure the Foundation that I will work very hard in the upcoming months to prove that I am worthy of such a generous gift.
I would like to thank you for selecting me for The Bonnell Foundation scholarship. I am excited to revive this as it will help me with my goals as I attend Pittsburg State University. I will be pursuing my degree in Sociology with an emphasis of Criminology. With the help of this scholarship I will be able to focus on school and use the money for books, housing, and tuition. Moving on to college knowing that my family and the CF organization/community is right behind me helps me greatly to reach my goals. Thank you again to The Bonnell Foundation for this scholarship and for helping me reach my dreams and goals.
I am deeply honored and humbled to have been selected by The Bonnell Foundation as a Marge Carmona scholarship recipient for 2019. The funds will help offset the financial burden of tuition, which is extremely helpful as my older brother is also enrolled in college and managing cystic fibrosis is never inexpensive. I am enrolled at Pfeiffer University but I have not yet declared my major. I am considering studying English (with hopes of becoming an author) or Business (with aspirations of owning my own coffee shop). Having the support of others in the CF Community, like the Bonnell Foundation, means a great deal as I pursue my education and hope to fulfill my dreams. Thank you again for your generous support.
