I want to thank the Bonnell Foundation for your generous dollars and support in my life with Cystic Fibrosis. I’m blessed with the opportunity to be a recipient of the Marge Carmona Education Scholarship. Your decision to help fund my education means so much to me, and you have now impacted my life in school and my future, while inspiring me to fight CF. Every day the challenge of living with CF is great, but the Bonnell Foundation reminds me that I am not alone, and people are there to help me. Thank you for generously choosing to invest in me.

The University of West Georgia
“I am so honored to be one of the recipients of the Marge Carmona Education Scholarship from The Bonnell Foundation. The gratitude that I feel for this great honor fills my heart. I am pursing my degree in Graphic Design and Illustration from The University of West Georgia. As a college freshman with Cystic Fibrosis, I know that there will be physical and financial challenges that I will have to face. However, this scholarship will help me off set the cost of my supplies and books that I need for my art classes. I am truly grateful for your generous gift and I promise to work hard to show the world how beautiful ART and CF can be. Again, thank you for this wonderful, unselfish gift of hope.”

University of the Sciences
“This scholarship will allow me to achieve my goal of attending a specialized institution in close proximity to my health care provider at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). Through this scholarship, I will be able to someday help many people through my work in Pharmaceutical and Healthcare business and the University of the Sciences.”

University of South Carolina
“Thank you so much for this scholarship I’ve been awarded! I really can’t express how grateful I am for this money. It is going go a long way in helping me continue my education. My dreams of being in the business world one day look more and more likely because of this scholarship. I am so thankful for your contribution!”

Northern Kentucky University
“I want to thank everyone at the Bonnell Foundation for choosing me as a recipient of the Marge Carmona Education Scholarship. I feel extremely honored to have been chosen. As I enter my sophomore year at Northern Kentucky University, this scholarship will help me to achieve my goals of becoming a nurse while also competing as a member of the golf team. The Foundation recognizes the many challenges that students with Cystic Fibrosis face every day, and I greatly appreciate their efforts to help all of us achieve our dreams. As a student athlete I want to be able to represent to all of those with CF, that having this disease does not limit you and that you can accomplish whatever goals you set your mind to.”

University of Louisville
“Thank you so much to the Bonnell Foundation for choosing me to one of the lucky recipients of the Margaret Carmona Scholarship. I couldn’t be more blessed to receive this scholarship, as it will help me continue my journey at the University of Louisville. I hope that one day I am able to provide the support and influence to other Cystic Fibrosis patients that you all have provided me. Having CF is a struggle at times much like the struggles of attending college; however, it is nice to know the Bonnell Foundation is dedicated to helping students with CF reach their dreams.”

University of Washington
“Thank you to the Bonnell Foundation for their generosity in selecting me as a recipient for the Marge Carmona Education Scholarship. This scholarship helps me and many others not only afford a higher education but also it reinforces and encourages the idea that people like me with cystic fibrosis can do anything that they set their minds to while living with this illness. I am so grateful for their help and it will be going towards my education at the University of Washington. GO DAWGS!”

The University of Findlay
“I am very grateful to have received the Marge Carmona Scholarship. I would like to thank the Bonnell Foundation for their generous contribution to my pursuit of higher education. It is wonderful to see an organization having such a positive impact on the Cystic Fibrosis community. The Marge Carmona Scholarship will certainly help to lower my tuition and has further motivated me to seize every day by working diligently to achieve my career goals. In receiving this scholarship, I am able to better focus on my studies, worry less about the daunting price of tuition, and receive my Master of Occupational Therapy Degree. Thanks again to the Bonnell Foundation for all of their support in helping me to achieve my career goals.”

Bowling Green State University
“This scholarship will help in numerous ways. The first being that because I will not have to worry as much about paying tuition in the Fall and Spring, I can focus on my studies and not a job. I can instead work full time in the Summer. Another way is that as everyone in the CF community knows how expensive having cystic fibrosis can be, even with health insurance. Since I will be saving on tuition, I can now spend more money on my medication and not have to worry about my finances as much. I would also like to thank The Bonnell Foundation for the wonderful scholarship to my continued education.”

Morehead State University
“I am a rising sophomore at Morehead State University in eastern Kentucky. I am majoring in Biomedical Science with the goal of attending dental school after my undergraduate education. While in high school, I was a four sport athlete and earned my Eagle Scout award from the Boy Scouts of America. During college breaks, I plan to observe various dental practices in the Southeast Kentucky area, and hopefully remain in my home Appalachian area where dental care is in great need and give back to the community where I was raised. I am deeply grateful for the financial assistance from the Bonnell Foundation as my family has been active in raising money for research and care since I was a very young child. The walk they held for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in 1998 in my small Southwestern Virginia hometown was recognized as the largest first year site ever at that time with no donation larger than $500.00! I am thankful the first year site record has since been broken. By bestowing the honor to be chosen as a recipient of the scholarship from the wonderful people associated with the Bonnell Foundation, I feel like you have allowed me to assist my parents in the financial challenges a college education presents. Thank you so much.”

Joy A.

Barrett, The Honors College at ASU
“Thank you so much for the scholarship! It means so much and will help me achieve so many of my college aspirations. This scholarship will help make it possible for me to live on campus while perusing a degree in mechanical engineering at the most innovative university in the country: Arizona State University. I look forward to using this degree to create things that enhance peoples’ lives and make the world a better place.”

Gabrielle D.

Madison Technical College
“I’m so excited to be attending my freshman year of college this fall. I hope to work towards getting a degree that in the future will allow me to go to law school and eventually practice environmental law. This scholarship is helping me fulfill my dreams and focus on the important work in front of me.”

Kelley D.

“I would like to sincerely thank the Bonnell Foundation for this generous scholarship. This scholarship continues to aid me in my journey of pursuing a career that I love. It will allow for me to continue to gain a sense of responsibility, independence, and confidence that will ultimately benefit me in my future. Michelle F.

“The Bonnell Foundation scholarship will help me fulfill my dreams of attending a world renowned university to pursue a degree in biomedical engineering. The price of education gets more and more costly every year and going into my fourth out of five years of college, this scholarship aids me and supports me on my journey to creating new technology and therapies that can help extend the lives of those affected by Cystic Fibrosis like me! I am not alone in my fight to living my best life and the Bonnell Foundation understands that.”
